If you intend to approach a company directly for an employment opportunity, it makes sense to pick one experiencing growth or a period of investment. Keep your eyes on the newspapers, they are full of good stories if you really look. Here are a few from this week:

Adobe
US software company Adobe has announced it is investing £63.5 million in its UK operations. The firm, which has recently opened a new office in Shoreditch, is planning to grow its workforce in the UK by over 20% over the next three years.

Ostereo
Ostereo, a British digital record label, has expanded its office space at Manchester’s Media City to accommodate its growing team. The firm has recruited 8 new staff in the last three months and further expansion is expected.

Floom
Floom, a London-based digital marketplace for florists, has secured £2m in funding. The start-up will use the investment to expand further in the US and work on developing its SaaS offering. New jobs are expected as the firm continues to grow.

Taylor Wimpey
British housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is opening a new training and IT facility at Blythe Valley Park next year. New jobs are expected.

Intercity Technology
Intercity Technology, a London-based cloud computing and IT security specialist, is constructing a new data centre in Birmingham. The move is expected to create 14 new jobs.

World Nomads Group
Australian travel insurer World Nomads Group is planning to open its new European headquarters in Cork. 60 new jobs will be created over the next 18 months as a result of the move.

DeltaNet
DeltaNet, a compliance and health specialist and provider of safety and security e-learning, has moved to new offices in Loughborough. The move will allow the firm to hire additional staff as it plans to create 10 new jobs in the next 12 months and another 20 the year after.

Watson Fuels
Fuel provider Watson Fuels has opened a new Customer Contact Centre in Norwich. The firm intends to create 30 new jobs at the new base over the next two years.
